RentCalc Privacy Policy
Last updated October 12, 2026. Applies to the RentCalc app for iPhone and iPad.
In short: RentCalc keeps your apartment search on your device. There is no account to create, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. We do not receive your apartment data, photos or payment plans.
Information that stays on your device
Everything you enter or add in RentCalc is stored in the app’s private storage on your device and is not sent to us:
- Apartments, rent offers, concessions, fees, lease dates and deposits.
- Property contact details you type in, such as a leasing office phone number, email address, agent name and street address.
- Notes and listing links you save.
- Photos and floor plans you add. The app reads your photo library or camera only when you choose to add a photo, and it saves its own copy inside the app.
- Your payment plan and any payments you log.
If device backups are turned on, iOS includes this data in your iCloud or computer backups. Those backups are controlled by Apple and your device settings, not by us.
When information leaves your device
Only when you take an action that sends it somewhere:
- Call, Email, Map and Open listing hand the phone number, email address, street address or web link to the Phone, Mail, Maps or browser app you use. Those apps handle it under their own privacy policies.
- PDF exports are created on your device and go only where you choose to share or save them.
- Contact and feedback opens a pre-filled email to us. It includes the app version, your iOS version, whether you use the free plan or Pro, and how many apartments you have saved. You can read and edit it before you send it, and we receive only what you send.
Purchases
RentCalc Pro is an in-app purchase: a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time Lifetime purchase. Apple processes every payment and renewal, and we never receive your name, Apple ID or payment details. You manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings.
When purchases are available in the app, RentCalc uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service, to confirm that your Pro plan is active and which plan it is, including when you restore it on another device. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID generated on your device, your purchase history for RentCalc, and basic app and device information such as app version and iOS version. This happens when the app starts and when you buy or restore. RevenueCat does not receive your apartment data. The app keeps on your device whether Pro is on and the date your plan is paid through. What we do not do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No advertising, and no advertising or analytics software in the app.
- No tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.
- We do not sell or share your personal information.
Deleting your information
Settings > Delete all app data removes your apartments, photos and payment plans from the app. Deleting the app removes them too. To ask about purchase records held by RevenueCat, email us at the address below.
Children
RentCalc is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date. If a change affects how your information is handled, we will also note it in the app’s release notes.
